This was early on when we were first down there! We did our rotation of personnel and as usual I had been down there for about a month, it was a Sunday, and the city doesn't wake up til noon! This was (to me) the funniest thing I saw the whole time I was there! I've mentioned before that my boss there wasn't tight with the cash. We had three good size houses all with in a few blocks of one another. On Sundays we BBQ ed and partied. It didn't take long for the neighborhood kids to scope us out, and soon on Sundays these 2 boys around 14 years old would come by and wash our cars for us! Well this was a very unpleasant experience, to say the least! I was at work and we needed some special stock, some Stainless Steel threaded rod. This was a challenge, but Terry rose to the occasion, knowing my way and around and my limited Spanglish, I set out looking for this hard to find item, and as usual they needed it now. I'm deviating from my normal Mexico post today! I found out yesterday a really good friend of mine passed away last Monday! Jack Bourgois! He was a friend here on this post and some of you might know him, I did since 5th grade. I talked to him recently and he said he was having major breathing problems, and on oxygen, but I never expected we'd lose him so soon! I spoke on an earlier post about a friend who got into some trouble, he went to Michigan and got stuck there, he had a girlfriend in Mexico and they were going to get married there, so he moved most of his things there, well anyway, she had to leave the home they were renting there and she came to stay with Patti and me until she could go back to her moms! If you've been keeping up then you know about the Cabin. A friend of mine got in to some trouble in Michigan and had a lot of stuff in Mexico, he was going to get married down there, and he got stuck in MI and couldn't return to Mexico, another story! I ended up with his things to watch over while he was gone. Well he had a nice printer there and I had a nice camera and was able to print some nice pics.

We used to fly back and forth from Mexico to Detroit MI. Most guys would go about every 2 weeks but I would stay for 2 to 3 months. I got to know what we needed as far as food and other items we couldn't get down there! When I did go back I'd pick up things for my Mexican crew down there, it would help me form a relationship with them and they loved working for me! Learning to adapt down there, is in it self a learning experience. However learning to drive, is a whole different story. You have to consider the mix, it's in the mix! LOL! A song? I had a buddy come down and stay at the house with Patti and I. He was a marketing freak on E-Bay. I was into the internet but had zero experience with E-Bay. So I was interested in what he was up to, well believe it or not he sold cereal boxes, as in Kellogg s corn flakes? Ya me too! This really wasn't an encounter per say, but..... We used to go to a great place in Saltillo called the American Club, it was gringo themed and a lot of the Americans and Canooks, I mean our Canadian, friends used to hang out there.
